Meet Stella Serra
1.Tell us a bit about yourself
Hi I am Stella, I am from Italy, but I have been living all my life in Barcelona and currently I am studying my first degree in Psychology.
2. Why UNAV?
Because it was an opportunity for going away from home and because it is a very prestigious university.
3. What were your expectations when coming?
My expectations when coming here were feeling like home. I think they were fulfilled, because I’m living in Goimendi and I feel like at home.
4. What do you wish you had known before coming?
I wish I had known that I would have to work really really hard and that it’s not school, that it is university and we have to be aware of it.
5. What has impacted you the most since arriving?
It has been how welcoming people are here, they all want to be your friends and know about you. So, people.
6. What was your major setback when applying?
It was making the final decision of studying here and what to study here and finally I am very happy.
7. What are three tips for a newcomer?
I would say be open-minded, like being open to making new friendships, knowing new people, The second tip would be come here to be aware of working very hard. Finally taking a coat.
8. What are some outside sources that have helped you in your classes?
I think that something that has helped me is having an advisor has helped me organize my classes and hours of study. Additionally, students from older classes studying my same degree have oriented me and given me tips on what is important to study and how the teachers want the assignments done. The university portal, ADI, has been very useful.
9. What are some expectations the career had such as the amount of time it consumes, the projects or other things?
I think one of the expectations the career has is for the students to become professionals in the future and be well-formed.
